Phottix announces wireless TTL Trigger

Phottix unveiled it’s latest product at Photokina in September: The Phottix TTL Trigger. Photographers will be able to fire flashes using wireless radio and remotely control power and flash zoom settings.

What can the Phottix TTL Trigger do?

    Wireless 2.4GHz. TTL and Manual Flash Triggering
    High speed sync – shutter speeds up to 1/8000 sec.
    Second curtain sync functions
    Remote power control in A:B, A:B C ratio modes with +/- EV …adjustments
    Remote power control of groups in TTL mode with +/- EV …adjustments (3 stops in 1/3 stops)
    Remote manual mode flash power control
    Remote flash head zoom adjustments – auto or manual
    On-camera AF Assist Light

The Phottix TTL Trigger consists of an on-camera transmitter and control unit (TCU) and receiver units for compatible hot shoe flashes. The system supports wireless high-speed sync with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 sec. and second curtain sync functions.

The TTL Trigger offers photographers four wireless channels and three flash control group designations. Flashes can be controlled in TTL group ratio modes A:B or A:B C with EV +/- adjustments of three stops. The power of individual groups can also be controlled in TTL mode with EV +/- adjustments, manually set, or turned off.

Flash head zoom can be automatically adjusted from the TCU or easily adjusted manually and set from 24 to 105 mm. The TCU has a built-in AF assist light. Use your camera’s autofocus functions in dim lighting conditions with less worry. The system can also trigger compatible non-TTL flashes and studio strobes.

The four-channel, 2.4 GHz, transmitter and receiver units work at ranges of more than 100 meters and accept AAA batteries. The Phottix TTL Trigger for Canon cameras and flashes is expected to be available by the end of the year. Work on a Nikon compatible system is underway.
